Australian Peace, Harmony and Love Project

In the late 1960s and early 1970s the Beatles discovered Transcendental Meditation, a particular meditation practised by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.  The Maharishi brought this meditation to the world claiming to offer practitioners the ability to levitate and to create world peace.  Based on Maharishi’s beliefs, awareness of the whole population may be influenced by a single individual’s enlightenment.

Since those heady days, scientific research has found that in cities and towns all over the world where as little as one per cent of the square root of the population practises the Transcendental Meditation Technique, the trend of rising crime rate is reversed, indicating increased order and harmony.  Research scientists named this phenomenon of rising coherence in the collective consciousness of the whole society the Maharishi Effect, following Maharishi’s promise to society made in the very early days of Maharishi’s Movement started in Madras, India in 1957.

Research has shown that groups or individuals practising meditation may generate a unifying and integrating effect in the life of society.  This results in a decrease of negative trends throughout society—such as crime, accidents, and sickness —and an increase in positive social, economic, and political trends. This phenomenon is known to physics as the ‘Field Effect’ and this effect can influence the whole population.

On Thursday night,  4th of June 2015 at the Sanela Insitute, 12 enthusiastic people of different ages and backgrounds came together to meditate in order to make progress in developing their inner transformation that would lead to focused attention, emotional balance, altruism and inner peace.  Led by Sanela, the group focused on “Peace, Harmony and Love”.

This was the first step in a new journey and Sanela Institute calls upon like minded people to come along and practice focused meditation to uplift their souls and to assist in creating world peace.

The Project began on Thursday 4th June 2015 at the Sanela Institute. Who knows where it will lead?

The group meets every Thursday 7-9pm and will grow exponentially.

Anyone from the Brisbane area may contact Sanela for more details.
